Paniya are an ethnic group located around the north of the Western Ghats. The tribe's main source of income is from the labour they offer. Historically, Paniyas were considered to be slaves. Years have passed, and the remnants of the slavery still manifest, not just in their economic status but also in their emotional and psychological well-being.This documentary was part of my PG final year project, completed in April of 2024.
